the brimmed beanie

I made my first hat! I used this video tutorial from Threadbanger.com. (love them!!) I used an old white sweater I picked up from the Salvation Army for about $1 a few months ago. I left the raw edge on the outside for a little more interest. It took about two hours start to finish since I had to improvise some of the instructions due to using a sweater that was a bit too small. But I think it turned out alright for my first try… I’ve already got “orders” to make some for The Hubs and his friend.

It looks great! I will definitely have to check that out. I got one of my fabrics recently for my summer dress patterns. It’s a lighter pink (not too light though) with brown polka-dots. Can’t wait to have the time to try and make one of my dresses!!! I’m still waiting on my yacht/sailor fabric :o(
But yeah … love the hat!!

ok so for your “rough” edge, you just left is “inside-out” basically? I really like that little touch. I think I’m going to go try making one now. I also have a small brim ready and am going to make Bruce Lee one. Just need to get elastic for a “chin” strap. :op
