I love this shirt refashion! It’s taken me about a year to photograph this and share it… Slacker. I know. Well, I am sharing now, right?! Right. So, both of these shirts were from The Salvation Army in Honolulu (when we lived there). I loved this red t-shirt simply for the geta sandals (close-up image below) on the front! However, it was a little snug for my taste. I believe I saw this project in one of my t-shirt project books, Tease, I believe it was. Well, it’s simple, obviously. Slice up the middle, add in the buttons and collar from another thrifted shirt and…Voila! New fun super comfy shirt! I especially like the rough, unfinished edges that I left on the white shirt, and the red thread is also pretty fun. I love collared shirts, but this one has the yummy comfiness of a t-shirt! Can it get any better? Oh yeah, and my husband has requested one!! Can’t wait to make his and share that too!

Well, my cousin had a housewarming party this weekend and I thought it the PERFECT time to use one! So, for about $2 total this 14″ throw pillow was born. Hope to have photos for you soon of her place! Trust me, you’ll want to see it!

Pillow photographed on our “new” orange thrifted $10 chair. Wait til you see the pieces we got! What a steal!

It was a relatively easy project. Just a bit time consuming and lots of sore fingertips. My awl came in quite handy with getting the needle and hemp through the covers. I glued the fabric to the front, back and spine with a little Mod Podge, and it turned out perfect! He loves it.

Alright, so I couldn’t just throw out that cute potato stamp. Instead, I got another use out of it. Not quite as cute as the skirt, but I thought it came out ok. I made this drawstring bag to house our fabric paints. I used an old khaki pant leg of my husbands. (it had already been cut off!) It’s sturdy enough to hold a lot of things! I am happy with it, although not completely thrilled. I do like the yellow dots. (made those with a pencil eraser)

(at least I think so, even if it does end up just being a p.j. shirt) My favorite part about the shirt is that the lips are soft. I used some red flannel fabric my husband had purchased a while back. I have never worked with flannel before so I hope it will hold up alright over time. Either way, it was fun and easy to make! My promise to you… MORE APPLIQUES TO COME!!

I made my first hat! I used this video tutorial from Threadbanger.com. (love them!!) I used an old white sweater I picked up from the Salvation Army for about $1 a few months ago. I left the raw edge on the outside for a little more interest. It took about two hours start to finish since I had to improvise some of the instructions due to using a sweater that was a bit too small. But I think it turned out alright for my first try… I’ve already got “orders” to make some for The Hubs and his friend.
