Wildcard Wednesday :: Spring!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

sakura

Does anyone else feel like life gets crazy busy once springtime comes? I feel I barely have time for anything besides working and cleaning. While I am quite thankful for my wonderful job… I find myself really yearning for some down time. A hammock would do, in the shade of a Cherry Blossom tree with a BIG glass of sweet iced tea. *sigh*

What do you have planned for the weekend? Anything exciting? I think I’ll search for that glass of sweet iced tea.

Wildcard Wednesday :: Snowmageddon 2010

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Maybe this post should be “Whiteout Wednesday” instead! I’m sure no matter where you live you’ve heard about our Snowstorms here in the D.C./Baltimore area. It’s almost unbelievable how much it has been snowing here since Friday afternoon. The roads and sidewalks were cleared just in time for this new blizzard today. As much as it disrupts the flow of day to day life, I wouldn’t change it! It’s so beautiful. Really, just lovely. These photos are from this past weekend where we accumulated around 26 inches of snow where we live. Photos start from Friday evening.

So far today, we have new snow of about 8-10 inches, and it won’t stop until this evening! Complete whiteout at times with wind gusts at 30-40+ mph. Amazing!

I’m Alive!

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Hello!! The past month has been insanely busy, and the next month is just as crazy! I can’t wait until the summer hits, then there will be a bit more down time for making and relaxing. That will be nice. But, for now… I am squeezing in posts where I can!! Here are a couple shots from the recent Cherry Blossoms blooming all over the area. They were so beautiful although, they didn’t stick around very long. I’m so happy we were able to not only enjoy them down in the city, but quite a bit of them bloomed right in our neighborhood! So pretty. I can’t wait for next year!

My mom and I.

Shot of my mom and me! Isn’t she a knockout?
We look so pink under the magnolia tree!

As I mentioned in this post, Dustin and I went to Green Festival DC a couple weeks ago. We had a lot of fun, learned a few things and walked away with lots of goodies!! Just wanted to share a few things with you! Enjoy.

Both the plate and fork were made from recycled material and corn.

Green Festival DC 2008

Some of our goodies. “Proud to be an Eco-Maniac” bag from planet green.

Green Festival DC 2008

These little laundry dropps dissolve in the wash! Smell lovely too!

This Soda Stream was my favorite thing there, even though I don’t drink a lot of soda.
I do like sparkling water. This machine is so cool. You can make 60 liters of sparkling
water with just one container. Also, 33 cans of soda with their flavorings.
Best part is, the company takes the empties back to clean and reuse them!

Oh, and the coasters up there, made from 100% corn plastic.

Drinking the last of the Diet Root Beer sample they gave us.
So good, and I don’t even like Root Beer.

Green Festival DC 2008

Primal dog food product coupons and samples. Our dog ate up this food like he hadn’t
eaten in days. He loved it. I don’t think we can afford it, but it’s wonderful food.
All natural, just what they need to be eating.

Also, this Really Raw Honey was AMAZING. It tasted just like some honey
I had about 10 years ago in Romania. SO GOOD!!

We had a really fun time at the Green Festival. Check out their website for more information, they could be coming to you soon!
