Our "new" desk.

Found this on Craigslist. Our budget was $200. This was $180 with the chair, AND the seller delivered it to us! Has a few dings and scrapes, but nothing that bothers me. Good condition with lots of character. I’ve been searching for one of these for a long time. So happy to have found it!

Not sure where we’ll place it yet, but Bonsai seems to like it. The movers, however, will not when it’s time to transfer again. At least we have an elevator in the building!

Found Bicycle Basket

Yes. I pulled this forgotten metal bicycle basket out of the actual garbage can while we were walking our dog. My husband looked at me like I was crazy, but I was thrilled! I can see how this, with a little love and reshaping, would make a fabulous addition to our home.

One idea is to hang it in the bathroom to house lightweight items like toilet paper and/or washcloths and hand towels. Another thought was to utilize it in the kitchen for storage of onions/potatoes and the like, after a good cleaning of course! The possibilities are endless….

And, while I was at it, I had to get a picture of Bonsai inside the basket. I mean, really, how cute is this?

Do you have ideas on how to incorporate this item into a home? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts!

Glass Containers

Glass Containers

Vintage Metal Container

I am a sucker for a lovely, useful vessel. Whether it be glass, metal or any other material, I have a very hard time refusing it. And, around $1-$2  a pop (some as low as .69 cents!), I certainly can’t turn that kind of a deal down! I splurged a little on the white tea tin I found on Etsy ($6). But, it was totally worth it!

I’ve decided to share some of my favorite pieces that I’ve accumulated over the last 6-8 months or so. I find these jars and tins so useful around the kitchen as well as the rest of the home. The glass flip top jars are perfect for food storage. I like to keep my nuts, seeds, snacks, dog treat, and baking items in them. Everything looks much prettier in a glass jar! These metal tins I typically use to contain my numerous teas. However, I have also been know to empty a few containers out and use them at a Craft Show as seen in this post.

The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
